2020 will be an exciting year for Interasma, the Global Asthma Association, one of this year highlights, among many new developments, being the internationally renowned World Asthma Congress that will take place in Stresa, Italy in October. Located at Hotel Dino Baveno-Stresa, Lake Maggiore, Italy, one of the most accredited facilities in the incentive and business events sector in Italy and a state- of-the-art convention center, the congress will be a gathering of world experts in asthma and related conditions, and we expect over 1000 participants as for the previous WCA in Athens, Quebec, Madrid and Tokyo. Indeed, the last four WCA’s attracted from 793 to 1841 attendees from 82 countries. It will certainly be an opportunity to share knowledge and look at the most recent developments in the field of asthma, airway obstructive diseases and related conditions. WCA-2020 will continue its tradition of excellence and you are welcome to take part in this unique world event. Asthma is considered to affect more than 300 million people worldwide and is unfortunately responsible for an enormous human and socio- economic burden, in addition to still causing thousands of deaths yearly. Founded in 1954, the Global Asthma Association INTERASMA is an International Health Organization focused on providing a forum where asthma experts can provide educational outreach to Primary care physicians/providers, Pulmonologists and Allergologists /Clinical Immunologists in various regions of the world. The organization accomplishes this mission by: Supporting annual meetings to regions around the world so physicians can directly interact with national and International asthma experts and learn about cutting edge advancements in the management and treatment of asthma and related comorbidities. Collaborating with the well-known Journal of Asthma, a renowned publication that focuses on research related to all aspects of asthma and associated conditions. Providing a global network of asthma experts to whom clinicians that treat asthma can reach out to and ask questions of regarding difficult asthma cases. Holding a bi-annual International “World Congress on Asthma” in various parts of the world.We would like to warmly thank those of you who continuously provided support to our association and participated in the past WCA’s. Together, we can work to update knowledge and skills of health professionals to provide the best care to patients suffering from respiratory diseases.
